This is a nice astrophotography setup and an interesting landscape on a trip to the Arizona Sky Village (March, 2003). Jim Windlinger is the author of the picture, and the owner of the equipment. Have a look at his webpage to get more details about the equipment and view the resulting images of the sky.

I suggest you look at the Sony alpha 350. It has a tillabte LCD screen and a secondary sensor built inside the chamber so the LCD can be used as a live viewfinder. It also has 14.2 mps and it's a camera that will keep its' value a little longer because of the advanced tech in it.the d40 has only 6 MPs and while that's enough for small prints, more megapixels means better noise reduction. The Olympus' have a sensor that is too small and at high ISO they have too much noise for a DSLR.Cheers!
