Adam Stuart at Miami, FL on 03-03-2007 took this image of the Earth's shadow over the Moon surface using a Stellarvue Nighthawk at f/6, Astronomik Type II IR-blocked Green filter, a SXV-H9 CCD camera and an exposure of 0.14 seconds.

Have a look at the details on the surface: very well defined due to a sharp focus always difficult to attain. Rays from Tycho and Copernicus flood the eclipsed Full Moon. Earth shadow is visible in the Eastern area and the bright Sun delights us in the West.
